The Speed Factory is a track and cross-country club located here in Federal Way, Washington. Our goal is to enrich and improve young people's lives through sport, and do our part to rebuild American running. Track and cross-country provide a unique and challenging setting for young people to learn what it takes to be successful, and gives them the opportunity to develop both their mental skillsets and physical abilities. The Speed Factory programs are focused on the long term development of athletes. This means different things for different types of athletes. We look at the potential of an athlete and make a plan on how best to reach that potential. Our use of goal based training gives athletes specific targets to work towards, and we do our best to treat each athlete as an individual to allow for the highest probability of success.

Announcing a Native Athlete scholarship. TSF would like to offer a scholarship to two local athletes of Native American dissent. Coach Frank is a proud member of the Onieda Tribe of Indians, and wants to help build on the proud tradition of Native runners. Athletes must be between the ages of 9 and 17, must be able to provide proof of tribal enrollment, and must have good grades.
Summer track will officially begin Tuesday May 31st. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6-8pm. Contact us for details on location (Saghalie Middle School or Decatur High School). Coach Frank is currently coaching at a local high school and will not be available till after the state meet. For those that want to get started early, and are not currently running for their school, feel free to contact us and we will get you a started on a training program. If you would like to meet Coach Frank beforehand let us and we will set something up.
The team grew a lot last year, and we expect even more this summer, so we could really use another coach or two (jumps, hurdles and sprints). Our programs continue to produce National Qualifiers at multiple distances for all age groups. For high school XC runners we have a different program set up. Its designed to prepare high school runners for the fall xc season, and hopefully be more fun and productive then the typical summer training.
