The Speed Factory is a track and cross-country club located here in Federal Way, Washington. Our goal is to enrich and improve young people's lives through sport, and do our part to rebuild American running. Track and cross-country provide a unique and challenging setting for young people to learn what it takes to be successful, and gives them the opportunity to develop both their mental skillsets and physical abilities. The Speed Factory programs are focused on the long term development of athletes. This means different things for different types of athletes. We look at the potential of an athlete and make a plan on how best to reach that potential. Our use of goal based training gives athletes specific targets to work towards, and we do our best to treat each athlete as an individual to allow for the highest probability of success.

High School Pre-Comp begins Monday Jan 16th. Cost is $75 for 6 week program. We meet Mon, Weds, Fri 630-8pm.
This time of year we will be working on mechanics, speed development, strength training and building base of fitness. Leading into the track season is important to have a solid base of speed and fitness. That goes for everyone, even distance runners! We have a unique and really effective winter program that sets our athletes up for success come spring. In the last two years we have seen our athletes go to state in every track event from the 100m to 3200m. Last year we saw our athletes take 9 podium spots at the state meet, and 5 of our athletes went on to compete in college this year!
Summer track will officially begin late April 2017. Practices will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6-8pm in the early season, and Monday-Thursday once summer begins. Contact us for details on location (Saghalie Middle School or Decatur High School). Coach Frank does coach at a local high school, so we tend to get started a little later than a lot of other clubs. We will have more details as the time grows closer.
Our programs continue to produce National Qualifiers at multiple distances for all age groups. For high school XC runners we have a different program set up. Its designed to prepare high school runners for the fall xc season, and hopefully be more fun and productive then the typical summer training.
