Head Coach

Frank Fisher, USATF Level I, USA Triathlon Level I

Coach Frank has been coaching on and off most of his adult life, with his first experiences coming at a young age.  He was blessed with having a number of great coaches in several different sports growing up, and considers it a privilege to coach for living now.  Frank started his first coaching business in Austin, Texas in 2007 working with adult runners and triathletes.  That same year he began coaching middle distance runners for the South Austin Steel youth track club.  There he found a whole new world coaching youth athletes.  The South Austin Steel was, and still is, a very successful program.  With the Steel, Coach Frank learned a great deal on how to work with young people and lead them to success, and that it takes more than technical know how to be a good coach.

In 2012 Frank moved to Federal Way and began coaching a few athletes one on one, and soon enough the numbers started to grow.  2013 The Speed Factory was founded with a handful of solid, dedicated athletes.  For Coach Frank it was a very positive beginning to a new program dedicated to serving young athletes in his local community.

The Speed Factory will continue to evolve with it's coach and athletes.  We want to do our part to rebuild American running, and that starts with youth development.  Coach Frank has a vision of building a team that supports athletes of all levels, that teaches kids to set goals, and learn what it takes to achieve those goals.  All of Coach Frank's programs require athletes to take initiative and work hard on their training even when not at formal practices.  Every athlete is held accountable to keep up with their program, and Frank does his best to make sure that his athlete's know that their best interests are what is most important.  No matter the ability of the athlete, setting and achieving goals will build confidence and instill positive habits that will transfer to all other parts of life.

Frank continues to spend countless hours learning and working towards becoming a better coach.  All of his athletes have seen improvement, regardless of sport and age, and a high percentage have gone on to do well at local and national levels.  In addition to coaching, Coach Frank has several years experience as a personal trainer and currently runs a Pilates and Fitness studio with his wife in Federal Way (Core Studios). Frank has 20+ years of competition experience in cycling, running, and triathlon winning and medaling in all three sports numerous times over the years, gaining All-American honors from USA Triathlon, and recently qualified for the USA Triathlon Olympic distance National Championships for 2014.  This combined experience gives Coach Frank a well of knowledge to help any athlete make improvement mentally and physically across the board.

New Coaches this year!

Tyler Matthews

Tyler is currently the hurdles coach at Mt. Rainier High School. He has done an excellent job in the three years coaching at Mt. Rainier with one state champion in the 300m hurdles, and multiple state qualifiers in both the short and long hurdles. We are excited to have him working with us.

Jason Palmer

Jason has just finished his freshman year at the University of Washington where he studies engineering and runs the 400m and 4x4 for the Huskies. Jason is an outstanding young man with several years of track experience under his belt, with multiple podium finishes at the state meet during his high school career in the 4x1, 200m, 400m, and 4x4. He has worked with some great coaches in the past (including Coach Frank!), and brings an intelligent and sharp mind to our team. He will be working with our sprinters during training sessions, as well as guiding high school athletes through core and strength sessions. Jason is also a valuable resource for potential collegiate athletes.

Keith Rogers

Keith is our man in the community. He knows someone everywhere we go, and he is a great value to our team. He also knows and loves track, and is constantly doing his best to get kids to come and develop their potential. Keith works with our sprints and middle distance athletes, and also serves as a great motivator for all of our athletes!
